About

Kelsey Emblow, an artist hailing from Yorkshire, has carved a unique artistic path that beautifully melds her background in graphic design and illustration with a profound love for animals. Graduating in 2013, she embarked on a seven-year journey within graphic design agencies, nurturing her newfound passion. However, her true artistic voice emerged during her moments of solace, as she dedicated her free time to meticulously crafting animal illustrations.

At the heart of Kelsey's artistic evolution lies a deep appreciation for stippling, a technique she first encountered through her father's influential work. Inspired by his intricate black ink stippling drawing of a woman from his university days, Kelsey embraced this method in 2012, marking the inception of a transformative journey. Over the years, her stippling has evolved from monochromatic renderings to vibrant, layered tapestries of dots. The experimentation expanded beyond black and white, ushering in a symphony of colors through the introduction of digital, acrylics, and oils. Kelsey's work now manifests as a celebration of intricate details, each dot contributing to a larger, harmonious whole, echoing the mesmerising patterns found in nature. Her art, showcased in exhibitions across Bradford, Todmorden, and Hebden Bridge, not only captures the essence of the animal kingdom but also reflects a captivating journey of exploration and discovery within the realm of stippled and pointillism artistry.
